Weather Details

(2023-on going)

Weather Details is a quiet conversation with time. Over the course of a year, I made it into a ritual to kneel down close to the Earth, breathe in the scent of damp soil and watch the world through a macro lens. With my camera set in huge open field next to my apartment, nestled between the highway and a small forest, this series are the result of a quiet and long process of capturing the raw organic shifts in the Finnish landscape across every single month throughout all four Nordic seasons.

Through macro photography and the raw simplicity of natural light, I managed to capture all these small moments that might go unnoticed by most of us, not apparent to the casual eye, focusing on the subtle weather details we might miss. I immersed myself fully in the world of insects, raindrops, and nordic moss. The daily connection with the land and the practice of photography helped me to find a healthy coping mechanism for my anxiety and PTSD disorder, aligning me with the natural rhythms of the world. I exclusively used natural light to honor the authenticity of the Finnish natural environment.

Weather Details shares an important message for all the city people: to remember how deeply our bodies are attuned to the cycles of nature, how the Earth’s rythms mirror our own internal shifts. It’s a reminder and an invitation to un-learn and re-learn to tune in with the natural cycles, so we can find our inner balance and reconnect with our true selves.

This is an ongoing project showcasing a limited selected selection from the currently 120 photography series.
