Biography & CV

Luiza Preda is a multi-disciplinary visual artist whose practice combines photography and moving image with space design and eco-art to create immersive, participatory experiences. Her work often explores the dynamic interplay between the conscious and the subconscious. She studied Fine Arts, Media, and Culture with a focus on Photography and Videography in Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Bordeaux (France), and Tampere (Finland), receiving Magna Cum Laude honors from the University of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca for her artistic work as a student.

Preda has exhibited in Romania and Finland, including her first solo exhibition, I CAN’T SEE, at the Museum of Art in Cluj-Napoca in 2017 as an immersive photography installation while still a student. Until now, she has been awarded three production grants in Finland from the cities of Tampere and Espoo to develop immersive art experiences, and her documentary photography is part of the Finnish Heritage Agency collection. Several of her projects have been published in books and magazines, including the Visual Catalysts Book (CICAT2025), a Finnish research-based initiative focused on sustainability and the circular economy through fine art photography.

Alongside her personal artistic practice, Preda is a certified professional art teacher by the Romanian Ministry of Education and Culture for young student in secondary and high-school levels, and soon as a vocational art teacher for adult education from Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture. In 2023, she launched Creative Harmony with Luiza, offering photography and art classes for children and adults through onsite, online, and hybrid workshops and courses. Her classes foster playful, non-judgmental learning environments (that encourage artistic exploration, collaboration, physical engagement, mindfulness, and creative flow) for professional artists, hobbyists, and beginners alike to support self-development and holistic well-being.

Influenced by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Pawel Althamer, Sally Mann, and Vivian Maier, Preda integrates artistic experimentation, education, and community engagement into a unified creative practice.
