Luiza Preda (b. 1996) is a teaching artist based in Espoo, Finland, working primarily with fine art photography and expanding it through moving image, installation, and performance to create immersive photographic experiences.
Her work explores the relationship between time, space and the subconscious. Rooted in Jungian philosophy, she uses the camera as a tool for exploring consciousness, emotional landscapes, and the relationship between the visible and invisible. Through slow observation, consistency, and repetition—as seen in projects like Sky Series (2021) and Light Feelings (2024)—her practice turns visual documentation into contemplative artistic research.
Preda's first solo exhibition, I CAN'T SEE (2018), was a sensorial photography exhibition as a 120-metre photographic labyrinth at the Museum of Art in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Her work has been featured in research-based publications including Visual Catalysts (CICAT2025/Backlight Festival) and is part of the Finnish Heritage Agency collection through the collaborative photobook No Justice, No Peace (2020). She has received cultural grants from Tampere City(2021) and Espoo City(2025) in Finland, and in 2025 was commissioned to create interactive art-tech installations for tech companies including Nokia and municipalities including the City of Espoo through Colors and Code Creative Studio.
Educated across Europe with a BA in Fine Arts (Magna Cum Laude, University of Art and Design Cluj-Napoca) and a BA in Media and Culture (Tampere University of Applied Sciences), Preda is also a certified professional art teacher for both youth (Romanian Ministry of Education and Culture) and adult education (Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture).
In 2023, she started her own art initiative called Creative Harmony—a photography-based initiative offering workshops, photo-walks, and courses that foster multicultural, playful, non-judgmental learning environments. Her classes support self-development, mindfulness, and creative flow for professional artists, hobbyists, and beginners alike, having served 150+ participants from more than 20 cultural backgrounds across Finland.
Influenced by artists such as Olafur Eliasson, Paweł Althamer, Sally Mann, and Vivian Maier, Preda integrates artistic experimentation, education, and community engagement into a unified creative practice.
