Light Feelings
(2024)
Light Feelings is a visual poem dedicated to Finland, where my perception of light and color as a photographer was forever reshaped. Each month, a blurred photograph serves as a study of light and color, capturing the subtle transitions from one season to another. These images trace the sun's slow shift from monochrome stillness to the vibrant, almost overwhelming energy of the green season—a fleeting season where daylight stretches 24/7 around the summer solstice before fading into darkness again.
This photography series transforms the camera into a painter's tool for chromatic investigation. Just as painters create color studies, I use deliberate blur as my brushstroke—the lens focus becoming my instrument of abstraction. Each image captures pivotal moments like solstices and equinoxes, documenting how the sun's atmospheric shifts create profound biological and emotional resonances. These celestial turning points become studies of both light and feeling, revealing how seasonal transitions shape our inner landscapes as much as the outer world. The series invites viewers to experience light not just as a visual phenomenon, but as an emotional force—one that shapes our senses, moods, and connection to both our inner and outer worlds.
