Sky Series

(2021)

Sky Studies offers a daily raw documentation of the sky, captured from the same spot between August and November during the COVID-19 pandemic, as I was working fully from home. Displayed as a horizontal sequence moving from light to darkness, the work reveals a fundamental observation: the sky is never the same—each frame capturing nature creating a completely different composition every single day from the identical viewpoint.

This simple yet profound documentation became a meditation on constant change within apparent stillness. While confined to the same domestic space, the daily ritual of photographing the same frame revealed how much atmospheric transformation occurs above us—shifting clouds, light qualities, and weather patterns that create an endless variety of natural artworks. The series captures both the seasonal transition from summer's brightness to winter's approach and the psychological experience of marking time through natural variation during a period when our physical world had become dramatically reduced to the view from our windows.
