The Nordic Forecast
2020-2021
The Nordic Forecast is a project that merges self-portraiture and body performance, using the camera as both a witness and a tool for adaptation. Captured amid shifting Nordic weather—through heavy winds, rain, snow, and the warmth of a setting sun—these self-portraits document the artist’s physical and emotional acclimatization to a new climate.
Begun upon relocating to Finland, the series is both a personal ritual and a quiet act of resistance against the cold. It serves as a therapeutic exploration of the body’s relationship with its environment, while also offering an intimate perspective on the Nordic landscape—its extremes, its beauty, and its impact on the self.
